Really nice, but no visible finish?

This is an upgrade in our bathroom. I think our walls are slightly off, as I needed to remove the woodwork and cut it a bit to fully insert the register into the wall.It looks like it would cover quite a few sized airflow holes if you were wondering.To adjust the airflow, you have to manually pick the box up and adjust the flow stops from the backside. That is kind of inconvenient.It looks nice, but it seems to be quite bare wood- I cannot detect any finish on it, which in the long run will collect dust. I plan to pull it back off and apply some more lacquer to make cleaning easier. For now- it is a nice piece of wood and good craftsmanship and an upgrade from the old metal ones that scratch up and dent.

Great looking vent, a bit pricey, used as a ceiling vent

I love the look of this vent - I'm a sucker for natural wood.The vent was easy to attach, I used it in place of an old ceiling vent in my basement.It has a kind of weird design that includes a vent within the vent. It doesn't really work that well to stop the airflow, so not really sure of their intent. For my purposes of directing the airflow slightly downward from the ceiling, it works just fine the way it is.Vents are not as cheap as they used to be, I still wish this one was a few bucks less than it is. But for many, the look and fashion of this vent will make it worthwhile.

Larger Than Typical

I wanted to replace my original metal baseboard floor register but it wasn't as simple as a quick switch. This wooden one is slightly larger in length and wider, see photos. The vent plate is a nice sturdy oak. The rest of the vent is made of a lesser quality wood, that lacks graining. The top and sides of the register do not match the oak, staining the unfinished pieces helps but different woods take up stains differently. I would have liked, at least, the top piece to be oak because it's visible that it's different.To change the air flow, you have to remove the vent plate but that's easy. The air flow is regulated by an open or closed door, there is no in between unless you rig something up.

Nice wood

It has a very light uniform finish on it so it is ready to stain or coat if you don’t want the natural color. The size was exactly as advertised. The one I ordered was for a baseboard vent, not a floor vent. I noticed some reviews didn’t read this detail first. You will want to make sure you have the type of vent the product is made for. There is a flap cover built into the inside of the vent; if you want the vent close you close the inside flap. The old metal vent I had before this was an eyesore. The natural wood finish was a really nice upgrade for my home.

Stationary, No Hardware, Visually Pleasing Lightweight Wood, Well Constructed

We are about to remove a bunch of elements from an old, over-the-garage room in my even older split-level brick ranch house. The floor tiles are coming up, the wall has water damage, and that water damage from a window unit dripped down and rotted the old wooden register. Gross.So, we got this exact match to replace the rotted, broken one. It's lighter than the one we got from a local orange Big Box home store. This doesn't come with any nails or screws, which wasn't a dealbreaker, we just had to go sniff some out in the garage. This also doesn't use any hardware or a switch to manually close the vent or re-open it. It's a basic, wooden vent cover.Keeping that in mind, installation was a breeze for my teenage son (it was rougher to crow/pry bar the old vent out of its spot as the old nails has corroded. I love water damage). He wasn't doing a permanent install though; we just wanted to make sure it met our needs as we're about to gut the entire section of the wall anyway.I did have one "test' - on the last vent cover, the wooden slats felt somewhat "flimsy" to the touch and when you wiggled them within their slots, there was a scary amount of "give." So, I tried to fiddle with the construction and I'm happy to say all components fit together nicely and accurately.Only "gripe" is the color of the wood is a touch lighter than the baseboards in my house, but the baseboards are a bit of a darker orangey "70s wood trim" color, so I imagine that THIS vent cover matches more contemporary interiors better. If anything, that only prompts me to pry up the old baseboard and get rid of it, too!Fits our needs, very happy with the vent cover.
