Choose this exterior gable / wall louver for passive ventilation of an attic, gable, or crawl space. It mounts on an exterior wall or gable end and lets air move in and out through a louvered, screened face. This is a passive exterior vent, not an HVAC supply or return grille.

How to Measure for This Vent

Remove the existing vent and measure the width and height of the wall opening, not the outer face of the old cover. Match those two numbers to the nominal size above. The overall face measures 22"W X 22"H.

Installation

Finally found a gable end large enough to fit our vent fan output!

Made out of riveted Aluminum stock, this is well designed, and well made! Includes louvers to keep the rain out, and 1/4" hardware cloth on the inside to keep out the birds. The gable end vent fan I installed last year has an 18" diameter output. My existing gable vent is 12" x 16". This one is the correct size for an 18" x 18" square opening. I will have to frame the opening for that size, and put in new "J" channel vinyl siding to match the new opening. Then I can take advantage of the full potential of the new attic gable vent fan I installed!

Good product

The design of this louver provides an easy installation and a nice finish. I recently repaired and painted a storage building that also houses my 35KW generator, the existing radiator exhaust louver was in bad shape and needed to be replaced, this louver was exactly what I was looking for and a little less expensive than similar ones I had looked at. A well built product at a reasonable price, quick delivery in excellent condition, very good experience all around.

Great vent for the money

Overall this is a well constructed aluminum grille for ventilation or air intake. I personally prefer the lack of mounting holes so I can make them where I need for the application. It is not as heavy metal as in some commercial products about the thickness of a dime.

Nice Louver at a reasonable price

This louver was just what I needed.I used it to clean up an exhaust opening in exterior masonry wall. It has bird screen, and was very well made. See pictures before and after.

Good vent for garage, shed or otherwise!

Needed ventilation on an outdoor shed project, so this made the most sense to put on the backside of it for ventilation. It is high quality construction, good clean look, and allows for good air flow and exhaust as is needed during hotter days. I may put an exhaust fan on it as well to push more air out actively, but for a passive vent this is easy to install, does not come with a lot of installation hardware, but easy enough to mount to wood framing, or aluminum framing with the right screws and some caulking around the edges. If you need a functional, quite large vent for a garage, an attic wall or otherwise, this is pretty well worth it.
