Choose this supply register if you need an adjustable supply-air vent for a ceiling or sidewall opening. This supply register carries supply air and mounts on ceiling and sidewall surfaces. It is not designed for floor installation or foot traffic, exterior or outdoor use, dryer exhaust venting or use as a filter-holding return grille. Confirm the airflow function against your HVAC layout before ordering.

How to Measure for This Vent

Remove the existing vent and measure the width and height of the duct opening, not the outer face of the old cover. Match those two numbers to the nominal size above. The overall face measures 13-3/4"W X 9-3/4"H.

Installation

Position the supply register over the duct opening with the louvers facing the room. Confirm the frame sits flush against the ceiling surface before marking the screw points. Secure it with the included screws without overtightening, since excess force can distort the frame.

Fit perfectly in opening, even screw holes lined up.

This is a very well-made grille. It comes with two screws whose finished heads match the grille, giving it a clean, professional appearance. This is clearly not a budget item.The grille arrived perfectly flat with no warping, so it sits flush against the wall. Installation into the duct opening was straightforward and easy.One of its best features is that all of the vertical vanes are independently adjustable, allowing you to direct airflow exactly where you want it. The damper handle is also easy to operate, making it simple to control both the volume of airflow and, to a limited extent, the vertical direction of the air output.The finish is excellent and appears durable. With routine cleaning using a vacuum dust brush, it should continue looking great for years. Overall, this is a high-quality, well-designed grille.

Nice looking with adjustable fins

Overall not a bad looking grill and made on par with others I have used. It looks a bit beefier than I feel it is though since the border metal is on the thinner side. In fact, even though mine was well packed in a separate box, one of the corners and sides were slightly out of straight. It didn’t take much effort to push it back into shape though but still.I do very much like that the small open/close lever is hidden in grill work which isn’t as usual on many of these I have seen. It gives it a more finished look overall. Also with that, there is a slight beveled look on the frame which also gives it a slightly more finished look. And the edge band is a heavy inch thick so it’ll give some forgiveness to any vent edge issues. Although in my case that actually interferes a little with some crown molding I have so I had to make some adjustments. So double check its size and your space.I do like that the individual fins are adjustable. My vent is in the middle of the room so I can set them as a gradual curve to direct the air across all parts of the room. The ones with fixed fins usually means you are getting a 2 way or 3 way setup which works but this seems a better solution. I have had some adjustable ones that would change their directions over time. This one seems to be stable and hold its settings well so far. And I haven’t noticed any wind noise or whistling through the vent either.It is on the pricier side which was a little disappointing since the build quality wasn't beefier but it works well and looks good once installed.

Durable, metal construction

SUMMARY:I chose this product to replace my old broken plastic air vent. Measuring the duct opening, I selected the size, and it is the perfect fit. The screw holes even match up to the holes in the wall, which was a concern of mine. What I like is that it is made of metal, which is more durable than the old plastic, and should last for years. What I didn't like is the cost, at $37.69, I think its priced too high.PROS:- Perfect fit- Durable, metal construction- Screw holes line up perfectly- Comes with screws- Looks great!CONS:- So far there are no negatives / consTIPS and TRICKS:Make sure to measure the duct opening and not the dimensions of your old vent cover.STAR REMOVAL REASONS:One star was removed because I think the item is priced too high when compared to similar items.

Solved the squeaks

This is just what I needed!! We had a traditional-shaped register at the top of the stairs, about 12 feet up, that whined and rattled every time the air came on. We finally pulled out the ladder and swapped it for this one, and now we sleep in peace! It fit perfectly in place of the other one, and it was easy to adjust. I think it looks better than the louvered ones, and I know the air flow is better. I would think the price is high but this is nicer than the $20 ones I ordered and it truly solved our problem. The quality was worth it for us.
